Hi there - a great question I wish I had thought of... On our last trip starting with Hwy 67 in Santee, there was very minimal delay, but it should all be repaired by now. There were 4 spots where the shoulder had washed out, and each one had maybe a 3-4 minute wait. When i returned 2 days later, 1 had been repaired and the other 3 were a day or two away from completion. That was on March 3rd. You should be OK by now.
would this drive be difficult for an 32 foot rv? did you see any rvs on this road?

We did not see RVs and it would be a treacherous drive. This may be the road where they filmed that old Lucy Ball movie with the RV - The Long Long Long Trailer.
If only driving the Palm to Pines scenic byway one way is it better to drive Palm Springs to idyllwind or idyllwind to Palm Springs and why?
A:
I drove from Palm Springs up. Both ways would be gorgeous. But going down, all the turnouts and viewpoints are on the right, so you wouldn't have to cross the two-lane highway.
It took us about 1hr + 45 minutes in light/medium traffic. It also depends how slow/fast you drive on the Palms to Pines Hwy. Enjoy - it'll be a fun trip!
