Is there a difference in what you see, if your cruise is on another part of the Amazon? Amazon cruises can start from several different countries and I was wondering if there is a difference in what you experience and the wild life that you see. Also what is the difference in experience if you cruise the amazon or you stay in a Lodge and take day trips. thank you

The Amazon was badly flooded when we were there so many of the animals had moved further inland. I suspect life on the Amazon is pretty much all the same, very small villages and lots of birds in the jungle. We spoke to some people in Cusco who had stayed at the lodges and liked it. You probably would be somewhat limited how far you’d venture on your daily outings from the lodge as our river boat moved every day further up the Amazon.
We booked the 3-night Aria Amazon cruise. We are being offered the 7-night for the same price (different dates). If we accept the 7-night, we have to replan our entire Peru trip.
