Surprised by beautiful, sweeping ocean beach. To be honest, wasn’t aware Manly on a peninsula. As tourist given the advice for a spectacular ferry trip, do CQ to Manly. Randomly walked up the “Corsi”… Full review by DrGreyhound

Beautiful beach. Lots of cafes and restaurants in walking distance. Accommodation is a little high if you’re in peak season. I recommend the Novotel for its location and views of the beach. Full review by Raelene R

Very different from downtown Sydney, yet only a short ferry ride away. Even in winter the place feels alive. The old, abandoned aquarium is a depressing eye sore. Full review by LennyLH
If staying in Sydney for 3-4 days where is the best place to stay close to beach? Is mainly beach good place to stay?

Manly Beach is an excellent location. In addition to the beach there are some great restaurants and bars and a whole coastline of beaches. The of Sydney is only 30 mins by ferry or 15 mins by fast ferry. Several great walks are around. The tourism office is at the wharf. Also have a beer/meal at the 4 Pines Brewery across from the wharf and or the 16’ Skiff Club.
We'll be visiting Sydney in early Nov, and are considering also staying several days in Manly. What neighborhoods would you recommend for cafes, not overly touristy and near beaches? Also, we would like to kayak. Beach recommendations?

The beauty of Sydney and it’s suburbs, is you can simply walk out of your hotel - and find little communities, neighbourhoods where all the locals are which have great cafes and dining options. It’s safe to say any hotel or Home you stay at - there is something nearby. Plus it’s the fun of exploring. Manly has a great kayak hiring place on its wharf on the esplanade there - which would be a better area to kayak, as Bondi is a surf beach. Enjoying!!
