We had booked a tour with another provider that was for one canyon only and with a large gaggle of people. Dur to our baggage getting lost on the flight to Page, we had to cancel it. It turned out …Full review by Michael O

We are coming to Scotsdale for one week in April. We are interested in seeing Rattlesnake Canyon as well as Antelope Canyon. I understand though from reading reviews that masses of people come to see Antelope Canyon so there is quite a crowd. I note though that Rattlesnake Canyon is much more reasonable since alot of people don;t know about it. How far is the drive to see these two places and what is the cost for 2 people or 6 people to book a tour? When would we be picked up in Scotsdale for the tour. PLease advise. Book early as these tours sell out early. If possible, book a midday tour to get the most of the sunlight streaming into the canyon, especially if you are into photography. The other respondents are correct in that you will find it difficult to find a tour company willing to pick up from the distance you are describing. The drive is easy, though, and once you are north of Phoenix and begin to enter the mountainous regions of Arizona the views are phenomenal.
1. How far of a hike is it out and back? 2. How tight are the areas of the slot canyon that we need to fit through? Any size limitations for someone trying to go through the canyons? Are there ladders or anything that need to be climbed?

Did both the Lower and Upper. The Lower did have ladders...most just 4-6 rungs, but think the initial one.was about 25 down and the first "up" one had 12, maybe 15. I don't think the Upper had ladders as the vehicle took us right to the entrance. There was an uphill walk once we excited out of the canyon back to the vehicle. Not too strenuous... the path has a steady/grade incline.
are you open in Sept, we plan to be in antelope on 9/9

We apologize for our late response. Currently the Navajo Nation has not lifted the closure of the Antelope Canyons. If you would like more information, please email us directly.

Q:
Do I need a tour guide? Is it mandatory? Do we have to stay with the tour guide?
A:
Yes, it was mandated by the Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation after the incident that occurred in 1997 and the guide will remain with you at all times.
