The ruined temple gateway is fenced off. You could not actually stand in the gateway. You could get to within a few metres of it. It would be a very romantic place even so - good luck!
Hello, do you think it's possible to ride ATV's to the location of the Portara? My bf and I are staying at Hotel Naxos Resort and I am trying to figure out if our best option is to hike there, or ride the ATV's. Not up the cliff obvi, but just to get there. Last month when we were in Naxos we saw someone riding an ATV on the street directly beside the main port where the parking is. Right beside the Portara. You could at the very least, ride them to the port and park, and then walk along the pier to the hill where the Portara is located!
