We stayed in the West Rim camping area and thought the whole area was pleasant. Reservations are handled by Reserve America and they have a map on their site. You can see …

We stayed in the West Rim camping area and thought the whole area was pleasant. Reservations are handled by Reserve America and they have a map on their site. You can see where various facilities are located relative to that spot. There is a trail from the campsites to the canyon. It is readily available from all spots but the hike into the canyon is steep (with stairs) and if you walk the canyon floor carry plenty of water - none is available in the canon.
