Know your weather forecast and expect it to be windy on top even if it isn’t elsewhere. It’s an amazing view but very glad we went at 9 am instead of for sunrise as originally planned as it was 45 an…Full review by Amy S

Great view, fairly crowded. You are not alone being inspired by it, so prepare for some crowds. It is about 2 hours out of Las Vegas and the sights along the way are interesting too if you are not us…Full review by Kristen B

First time in Death Valley with my wife. Came to see the sand dunes but made a few more stops. After being in the basin we decided to drive up on the way back out of the park to Vegas. We are not ‘…Full review by ccarlson2022
My family is going to visit Death valley in two days so I need a fast answer please! It'll be one day trip from Las Vegas. I'm thinking visiting several points to visit in this order; Vegas-Mesquite flat sand dune-Furnace creek-Bad water basin-Artists palette-Zabraskie point-Dante's view-Vegas or opposite order Vegas-Dante's view-Zabraskie point-Badwater-Artists palette-Furnace Creek-Mesquite sand-Vegas If we visit all these points, it might be so late to go back to Vegas. I heard driving back to Vegas in night is pretty scary because it's too dark. I don't think we can leave Vegas very early in the morning because my family members can't wake up early. If we have to take out some point from the plan above, which one should we give up? Also, is there any hard spot to walk in these point? One of my family has leg problem. Any other suggestion? Thank you so much in advance!!!

i suggest to go with order where Dante's view at last ,if you can reach that point by Sunset, after watching sunset you can drive back to Vegas but this schedule is very aggressive and possible if you start early and reach Death valley by 10 AM max. Keep lots of food +water with you and don't forget to refuel your vehicle at Furnace Creek
We are not physically fit, are the trails to the lookout easy, moderate or difficult? Are there places to sit at the lookout?

I’m planning to visit on 5/3, is Dante’s View open by then? Is it only closed for car access? Can we walk up there?

You may want to check with the park ranger office about the road conditions as it strongly depends on the local weather. I don't know if you can walk up all the way to the Dante's view. Even if you can, it will be a real long hike ... I hope that the weather and road would be good so that you can drive up to the viewing area.
