My husband and I will be staying at the lodge with our 4 kids in August. We have never been to Shawnee State Park. After looking on Google Earth, I am concerned about the location of the lodge. We were hoping for something more secluded. Is there much traffic along the road beside the house? Also, do we have access to the water with our kayaks from the island or will we have to drive to a launching site? Also, how far is the beach for swimming? My husband also wondered about getting firewood since we will not be in the woods. Does the house have a grill for cooking and are there laundry facilities? I also need to know what size beds are in the house to bring the correct sheets! Thank you so much for any info anyone can give us about the lodge at Shawnee State Park, PA. We are looking forward to our stay.
