How imperative is it to buy advance tickets? If you just show up in the afternoon can you buy tickets on site?
A:
You can but if it's a busy day like a weekend, you'll be waiting in line. Buy them online.

Are there places to get lunch close to the plantation or Dayton Hall?

After visiting we headed back toward Charleston on Hwy 61 and ate at Betty Lou's Bistro (2408 X, Ashley River Rd, Charleston, SC 29414). Very good food! Great staff!

slavery did not make plantations possible. it made slave owners rich. not a good thng
