Hi, I used a guide called Sammy Kassaw. He can be contacted at: samuel x kassaw xx gmail x com where x is a dot and xx is @ He organised everything - he was really professional and keen. The food was also excellent, and he provided a tent etc. I arranged my own flights to Gonder and Sammy picked me up there at my hotel and then dropped me off there again at the end of the trekking. It's best to send him an email saying what you would like to do. I did a 7 day trek. He can suggest a good itinerary, depending on your dates. I recommend Ras Dejen (4543m) which is the highest peak in Ethiopia :-) Hope this helps, Peter McNair

It is a very nice climb with some very steep parts. some of them are muddy and very slippery. The last part on the glaciers very nice and a little bit technical. The guides are very good and they manage to helps very well with the ropes. `so you can do it if you are in a good shape and if you have already used crampons. I hd not a great experience with crampons and I managed it. IT was a fantastic adventure with amazing views and landscapes.
