This was an easy hike even for a 4 year old. There are two overlooks near each other. One is just a bit higher up. Such a beautiful view, but it’s windy and chilly, so dress warm.Full review by Tatiana H

Awesome hike for all ages. And the panoramic view at the end is breathtaking. The children were so excited at reaching the rocks and looking at the view.Full review by Carolyn M
I am looking for a scenic spot that my family can go to in order to scatter the remains of a loved one. This hike sounds pretty easy and the views look scenic from the photos. I need to go off the path at least 100' to scatter the remains. How long should we allot for this hike to the Stony Man overlook and back. Just trying to get some dea and several in our group are not hikers so will take us longer.

There is an admission cost into the National Park, but once you're in hiking is free. A one week pass is $30 per vehicle. Or if you plan to return, the annual pass (good for the passholder and up to 3 more adults in a vehicle) is around $55. There are 4 or 5 Fee free days per year. I think there are two left this year. One in September and one in November. OH....if you are thinking about an annual pass, you can consider the $80 one good for all National Parks. Google Shenendoah National Park and you'll find their site which has fee information, camping and lodging information as well as trail conditions. Hope this information helps.
