Now they’re 13-3, mostly thanks to Sonny Gray, who apparently likes to pitch against the Tigers, and stifled them as St. Louis won 11-4.
The Guardians jumped on Tigers rookie Jackson Jobe early. Steven Kwan led off the game with a double, and José Ramírez tripled him home two batters later to extend his hitting streak to 16 games. Ramírez then scored on Carlos Santana’s infield single.
Remember at the beginning of the month when the Tigers were scoring 10 runs or more seemingly every other game? That was fun. The end of the month is proving to be less fertile for the offense.
