July 9 (Reuters) - Linda Yaccarino, one of Elon Musk's top deputies as CEO of his X social media site, is exiting the company in a surprise move just months after the platform was acquired by the billionaire's AI startup, xAI.

Linda Yaccarino has officially stepped down as CEO of X, formerly known as Twitter, after serving in the role for two years. The sudden resignation marks another major leadership change at the Elon Musk-owned social media platform.

After two years, advertising veteran Linda Yaccarino said she is leaving Elon Musk's X, formerly known as Twitter.

Linda Yaccarino, who became CEO of X (formerly Twitter) in June 2023, is stepping down amid shifting roles and rising tensions following X’s integration into Elon Musk’s xAI. A successor has yet to be named.
