Alabama head football coach Kalen DeBoer understands where fans may feel there's a shortcoming on his 2025 Crimson Tide depth chart.

A second-team All-SEC left tackle who transferred to the Crimson Tide in 2022 for his final season of eligibility, Steen has played four of five offensive line spots for the Eagles. Per Pro Football Focus, he played 386 snaps in 2024, and made a start for the Eagles at left guard in the NFC championship against the Commanders.

Alabama announced Wednesday it would hold walk-on tryouts Jan. 21 at the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility on UA's campus. The football team clarified prospective walk-ons "must be a full-time student at the University of Alabama" enrolled in at least 12 hours in the spring semester.
