The man accused of shooting a teenager who went to the wrong Kansas City house has entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge.

Andrew Lester pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree assault in the shooting of then-16-year-old Ralph Yarl, who miraculously survived being shot in the head and arm.

The plea came on the eve of Lester’s trial in Clay County, which was supposed to begin Feb. 18. He is instead scheduled for sentencing March 7.
