North Korea reportedly launched an intermediate-range ballistic missile on Monday, according to South Korean military officials. The rocket launch appears to be the latest geopolitical agitation by the communist country and comes as U.

North Korea says it carried out its second missile test in two days — and this one was hypersonic. It came as U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken visited the region.

Monday’s launch was North Korea’s first in two months. Pyongyang fired at least seven ballistic missiles off its east coast on 5 November, hours before the US presidential election. The missiles flew to an altitude of 100km and covered a range of 400km before falling into the ocean outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone.
