Rickie Fowler defied PGA Tour officials at the Charles Schwab Challenge, taking a risky shot at the $9.5M event.

After shooting an even-par 70 on Thursday, Rickie Fowler has started his second round at the Charles Schwab Challenge scorching hot. Fowler began on the back nine and birdied holes 11, 12, 13, 15, 16 and 18 to make the turn in 29 strokes.

The Charles Schwab Challenge runs from May 22-25. The Golf Channel will air coverage across all four rounds from Thursday through Sunday, while CBS will take over for the primary broadcasts of the third and fourth rounds on Saturday and Sunday afternoons..
