Union County Public Schools says it’s among districts affected by a breach in the state’s student information system, which resulted in unauthorized access to student and teacher data.

Montgomery County Public Schools students will be able to get meals on Tuesday at 16 locations around the county, according to school officials. The emergency meal distribution sites will provide pickup grab-and-go meals from noon to 2 p.

School districts reported data breaches to the PowerSchool software they use to help parents, students, and teachers.

Union County Public Schools was among the districts whose student and teacher data was compromised by a data breach last month. Officials with the PowerSchool software company say on Dec. 28, 2024, they became aware of a potential cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to certain personal information through its PowerSource platform.
