President Trump is meeting British leader Keir Starmer in Scotland, celebrating not only their recently signed trade deal, but a new U.S.-EU agreement.
Leaders from Europe's two largest economies have led a chorus of gloomy reactions to the trade deal struck between EU chief Ursula von der Leyen and US President Donald Trump.
The meeting follows one Sunday between Trump and Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, when they announced a trade deal between the U.S. and the EU.
Trump had most recently threatened tariffs of 30% on imports from the European Union. But on Sunday, he met with the president of the European Commission, and they agreed to a lower level.
The euro rose on Monday following a framework trade deal reached over the weekend between the United States and the European Union.
President Donald Trump is expected to focus on global trade relationships as well as the Federal Reserve's upcoming decision on the nation's interest rate.
