August’s Sturgeon Moon illuminated the night sky, dazzling stargazers around the world. The moon reached peak fullness in the early hours of Aug. 9, but seemed full on Aug. 8 and Aug. 10 as well.

August’s full moon comes with a “celestial bonus,” per the Farmer’s Almanac. When the full moon sets in the early morning, stargazers might be able to spot an alignment of Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. If clouds get in the way, take another peek on Aug. 11, when Venus and Jupiter, the two brightest planets, can be seen huddled together.
