With those changes, “Avengers: Doomsday” and Sony’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” are now the only Marvel Cinematic Universe entries slated to hit theaters in 2026. Additionally, the July 31, 2026 release of “Brand New Day” now precedes the release of “Doomsday.”

The Avengers are not returning to theaters as initially planned. Marvel had previously slated the two Avengers sequels, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Warsfor May 1, 2026 and May 7, 2027, respectively.

This change also saw Marvel Studios shift a number of other unannounced Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) off of its calendar, meaning 2026 will only have 'Avengers: Doomsday' and 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' on it schedule, which is set to release on July 31, 2026.
