Oakland County health officials have announced the first confirmed case of measles in Michigan for 2025. Health officials say the measles case was detected in an Oakland County adult who recently returned from international travel.

Public health officials in northern Michigan say low vaccination rates in some counties are causing real concern for a measles outbreak if the virus makes its way to the region.

Three hundred and twenty-one cases have been reported in the ongoing measles outbreak in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma, the states said Tuesday. This is an increase of 25 cases since an update on Friday.
