Mexico's Secretary of the Navy claimed Tuesday that a pilot from New York was in control at the time the ship crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge.

Dozens of people gathered overnight in the street where one of the Mexican naval cadets who died when their training vessel hit the Brooklyn Bridge lived.

The Mexican ship which crashed into New York's Brooklyn Bridge over the weekend did not make distress calls before ramming into the bridge, the head of Mexico's navy said on Tuesday, but rather called for support.
