Pedestrian hit by car, killed near Ozark
A pedestrian was killed along a busy highway near Ozark Thursday night. Dale County Coroner John Cawley identified the victim as 73-year-old Willie Earl Jones of Ozark. Jones was hit around 8:30 p.m.

Willie E. Jones, 73, who was in the roadway at the time of the crash, was fatally injured when he was struck by the 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup driven by Timmy D. Smith, 50, of Ozark. Jones was pronounced deceased at the scene, ALEA State Trooper Lt. Jeremy Burkett said Friday morning.
