PITTSBURGH — Sandy Alcantara struck out six in six shutout innings, and the Miami Marlins edged the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-2 on Tuesday night. Alcantara (3-7) allowed three hits and walked one in his first win since April 12. The 2022 NL Cy Young Award winner went 0-7 with a 9.07 ERA in his previous nine starts.
Mitch Keller (1-9) faced the minimum through the first two innings but allowed a two-run home run to Nick Fortes in the third to break a scoreless tie.
Adam Frazier and Andrew McCutchen each had three hits and an RBI, and Bryan Reynolds had two hits including a bases-clearing triple to help the host Pittsburgh Pirates top the Miami Marlins 10-3 on Monday night.
