The Pittsburgh Panthers football team is mourning the death of freshman CB Mason Alexander, 18, who was killed in a car accident on Saturday.

Alexander, just 18, enrolled early to the University of Pittsburgh after being a four-star 2025 recruit out of Hamilton Southeastern High School in Indiana. On Saturday, March 1, Alexander was involved in a fatal car crash on Florida Road near Interstate 69 in the state of Indiana.
