The National Weather Service Fort Worth upped the ice potential on Thursday to 0.10 inches across the Metroplex.

A winter storm watch for parts of North Texas will go into effect late Wednesday, Jan. 8, and the area is expected to receive up to 2 inches of snow later this week, according to new information from the National Weather Service Fort Worth.

On Tuesday at 11:54 a.m. an updated winter storm watch was issued by the NWS Fort Worth TX valid from Thursday midnight until Friday 6 p.m. The watch is for Montague, Cooke, Grayson, Fannin, Lamar, Young,

Partly cloudy and cold. High: 43. Winds: N 5-10 MPH. THURSDAY: Areas of rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow around starting in the morning. The best chance of wintry precipitation will be along and north of interstate 20.
