Police say a group of about 70 Real Sociedad fans has been attacked at a local bar in Rome overnight ahead of the Spanish club’s Europa League match at Lazio

Five people suspected in involvement in a massive attack on Real Sociedad fans on Wednesday night outside a central Rome pub have been identified and reported to criminal prosecutors, sources said on Friday.

Lazio beat 10-man Real Sociedad 3-1 at Rome's Olympic Stadium on Thursday night to clinch their place in the Europa League top eight with a match to spare. Mario Gila, Mattia Zaccagni and Taty Castellanos scored for the Roman side in the first half.
