Ronaldo's apparent departure from the Saudi Pro League does have potentially imminent consequences on another major soccer tournament: the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. According to a MARCA report from earlier this month, an unnamed Brazilian club has already given Ronaldo an offer to play for their team during the Club World Cup starting in mid-June.

Ronaldo, 40, could get picked up by a team playing in this summer’s Club World Cup. Soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo said “this chapter is over” but that his story is “still being written” in a social media post Monday, suggesting that he’s ready to move on from Saudi club Al-Nassr.
