The Hilmar-based company recalled 1.7 million dozen brown cage-free and brown certified organic eggs distributed to retail stores in California and Nevada, including Safeway, Raley’s, Food 4 Less, Lucky, Save Mart, FoodMaxx and Ralphs.
The Southern Nevada Health District announced today that four people have been infected with salmonella linked to a multistate outbreak of the disease in brown cage-free and brow certified-organic eggs.
As of Friday, a salmonella outbreak linked to a California egg producer had sickened at least 79 people. Of the infected people, 21 hospitalizations were reported, U.S. health officials said.
