Rafferty played in two Super Bowls as a Cowboy, seeing his career bridge generations from Roger Staubach to Troy Aikman.

Last week’s news of the passing of long-time Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tom Rafferty brought back memories of the franchise’s glory days. Rafferty started out at right guard in 1976 before moving to center in 1981.

Tom Rafferty, an anchor of the Dallas Cowboys ' offensive line during the late 1970s and 1980s and a member of the franchise's Super Bowl XII-winning team, died Thursday after suffering a stroke. Rafferty, who had been hosptalized since early May according to his daughter, was 70.
