It's not Minnesota's fault, but the New York Liberty have the league's best starting unit with Jonquel Jones, Breanna Stewart, Leonie Fiebich, Sabrina Ionescu and Natasha Cloud. The depth might be a little more of a question there, but that starting until is loaded, and it edges the Liberty ahead by a nose.
Clark entered the season as the betting favorite to win the 2025 WNBA MVP at BetMGM and was the odds-on favorite with -115 odds on Monday before the injury. After the injury was announced, oddsmakers moved Clark out to +250 (second-best odds) and made Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier the new MVP favorite, moving her odds from +160 to -175.
The Aces got another strong performance from A'ja Wilson on Friday as they took down the Los Angeles Sparks, 96-81. Wilson won the WNBA's MVP award last season as she averaged 26.9 points and 11.9 rebounds per game—both career-best totals. She won the MVP award in 2020 and '22 as well. As Stewart claimed MVP honors in '23, Wilson was named WNBA finals MVP as she led the Aces to their second title in a row.
When Kelsey Plum opted to leave the Las Vegas Aces and join the Los Angeles Sparks in free agency, she was taking a risk. Plum, a three-time WNBA All-Star, had already won two WNBA championships with the Aces and established herself as one of the league’s elite guards.
