A forecast map shows the expected path for Tropical Storm Alvin as it moves through the Eastern Pacific southwest of Mexico. Alvin became the 2025 season's first named storm after forming on Thursday.

Hurricane Season: The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecast a range of 13 to 19 total named storms during the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 through November. That would make for an above-average season.
