NBA legend Carmelo Anthony suggested this week part of the hype around prospect Cooper Flagg is from of his skin color.

Although there are some people who doubt his ultimate ceiling, as it can be hard to see him as an MVP candidate, his floor is as high as we've seen from a prospect in recent memory. ESPN's Tim Legler jumped on the DLLS Mavs show to discuss Flagg's growth over the last few years and why he's a "can't miss" prospect.

The Dallas Mavericks, who recently won the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery with just a 1.8 percent chance, are widely expected to select Flagg with the first overall pick. And they surely hope Flagg is more Durant than Kirilenko, especially after receiving a life raft for the much-scrutinized trade of Luka Doncic and amid efforts to reshape their roster.
