First responders rescued several people during the flash flood in the Fairmont area on Father’s Day, and two of the moments were captured on camera by bystanders.

Residents across Central Texas are left with damaged property after the area experienced record-breaking rain, dangerous winds and a short-lived tornado on Thursday, June 12. Several towns, many of which are in the San Antonio metropolitan area, are also experiencing flash flooding, resulting in a number of road and river closures.

Sky9’s aerial footage on Thursday revealed the extent of the damage: entire trees, torn from riverbanks, were floating downstream and slamming into everything in their path. At the historic Monocacy Aqueduct, the floodwaters turned the stone structure into a makeshift dam clogged with logs.
