A sheriff's department SUV appeared to be ripped in two at the crash scene and a black sedan had front-end damage with deployed airbags, local media outlets reported.

NBC affiliate KNBC reported that the suspects were on freeways in the Commerce area before weaving through the streets. At one point, the suspects crossed into wrong-way traffic, all without helmets.
