A funeral service was held on Wednesday for a Maine State Police K-9 named Preacher who was killed in the line of duty.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (WABI) - The Maine State Police is honoring K-9 Preacher Wednesday. K-9 Preacher made the ultimate sacrifice in line line of duty. Maine State Police says the funeral will be held at The Point in South Portland at 11:00 a.m.

K-9 Preacher was more than just a working dog — he was a dedicated partner, a protector, and a hero,” said Maine State Police Colonel William Ross.
