Human remains that were discovered in Utah in late March have been identified as a Texas man who went missing with his wife in Moab flooding last year.

Mill Creek has a history of floods, including 2010, 2019, and the most recent flood of 2021, when flash flooding took over a restaurant supply warehouse and sent plastic and debris down the creek.

Ray and Maranda Ankofski were reported missing during a trip near Moab, Utah, on June 21, 2024. The sheriff's office said Ray, 58, and Maranda, 50, were likely swept away in a flash flood.
