The body of John Derek Faulkner was found about 9:30 a.m. Sunday near the Alabama River Bridge in Monroe County, the sheriff’s office said.

A Monroe County deputy was hospitalized after crashing their police vehicle into a river in a police chase Saturday night, as authorities pursued and ultimately arrested a drunk driving suspect.
