The Washington State Department of Transportation says to expect “lengthy closures” and to seek alternative routes.

The southbound lanes of Interstate 5 are now open (6:55 a.m.) after being blocked due to a fatal motorcycle crash in Burlington. The Washington State Patrol says traffic is no longer being diverted to George Hopper Road. Troopers are investigating.

Police identified the motorcyclist who died after a crash Sunday in Southeast Portland as 36-year-old Richard Headley. An initial investigation from the Portland police major crash team found the man was traveling southbound on Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard at the time of the crash.

A man has been arrested in connection to a deadly motorcycle crash that happened in Griswold last year. State police said 27-year-old Tyler Griggs, of Norwich, was arrested on negligent homicide charges Wednesday after a crash on Hopeville Road in June 2024.

The Pickens County Coroner's Office is reporting a deadly motorcycle crash in Clemson, South Carolina. According to Chief Deputy Coroner Tommy M. Page, the crash happened Sunday at approximately 8 p.m. on Berkeley Drive.

A motorcyclist was killed in a wrong-way crash on I-5 near Burlington early Thursday morning. The rider initially fled a traffic stop, exited at College Way, and later reentered I-5, driving north in the southbound lanes.
