Nintendo and The Pokémon Company’s lawsuit against developer Pocketpair is evidence of the threat posed by Palworld, one patent expert has said. In an article on GamesIndustry.biz, intellectual property expert and associate at law firm MBHB Andrew Velzen argued that the shock lawsuit shows “just how seriously Nintendo views the threat of Palworld.

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have filed a patent infringement lawsuit against the parent company of Palworld. The hit game has always been likened to Pokemon and now it seems that the Big N is working to protect its intellectual property.

While there's still no official word on which designs are relevant to this case, MBHB law firm associate Andrew Velzen has noted (via GamesIndustry.biz) that some seemingly key patents were in fact filed after Palworld's release,

Following last week's shock announcement Nintendo is suing Palworld maker Pocketpair for the infringement of "multiple patents rights", an IP expert has claimed it's "exceedingly plausible" Nintendo crafted its patent applications specifically to target Palworld.
