Drivers and bicyclists in Santa Cruz going across Santa Cruz Harbor on Murray Street will face detours and closures from now until 2028.

A major project began Monday in Santa Cruz County could make for a rough commute for those who use the Murray Street Bridge.

While the project will begin with only a single lane closure, transportation officials have noted that full closures are on the horizon.
