NITRO, W.Va. –Multiple crews responded to a brush fire in Nitro Friday afternoon. The fire was reported at around 1:20 p.m. near Greyhound Point at Lakeview Drive. The fire spanned three acres.

According to the Nitro Fire Department, the call came in at 2:45 p.m. Friday at a house in the 5000 block of Buffy Drive. First responders rescued a pet, but they were unable to revive it.
