LeBron James will receive an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree from Ohio State University. The degree recognizes James' basketball career and his community impact through the LeBron James Family Foundation. James has been a longtime supporter of Ohio State athletics and has a close relationship with the university.

LeBron James never enrolled at Ohio State University, but it's no secret that he's a beloved figure in Columbus. James, an Akron, Ohio native, became a household name at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School.

Ohio State University plans to give LeBron James an honorary degree. The Ohio State Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday to vote on dozens decisions, including whether to give an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree to NBA great LeBron James.
