Former NC State quarterback Roman Gabriel, a two-time ACC Player of the Year who played 16 NFL seasons with the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles, died Saturday morning, his son announced.

In addition to being an incredible quarterback at NC State, Gabriel was an elite playmaker in the NFL. In 1969, he was named MVP of the league for having over 2,500 passing yards and 24 touchdowns.
