Samsung has officially launched its One UI 8 beta program, and you can sign up to be among the first to test it out -- if you have a compatible device.
Samsung's One UI 8 beta is here. After playing with it for a day, I've found a few features I truly love — plus one thing I hate.
The One UI 8 beta also features some major improvements to the Secure folder, including a much-needed Kill Switch. The folder will also behave more like Android’s Private Space features, meaning you can store apps in the folder without a copy being kept on the rest of your phone.
While One UI 7 has only just recently been pushed out to the masses by Samsung, it looks as though One UI 8 will be following it very shortly – and the software upgrade could well come with a new Running Coach feature included.
One UI 7 restricted Android 15's predictive back gesture to Google apps, but One UI 8 is fixing the problem with expanded support for Samsung apps.

Samsung has had a secure folder since 2017, well ahead of Apple and Android, but this year will see the company add a bunch of new features — some of which offer some parity with Android's Private Space feature. The most important is the new "kill switch" that lets you hide the secure folder from sight.

This coach will supposedly offer assessments to help users "level up" their running game while also offering "guidance" on long runs.
As previously rumored, our One UI 8 beta tests have found that the Now Bar will now display calls and Do Not Disturb status.
