PRUNEDALE, Calif. -- A 250-gallon propane tank exploded inside a Prunedale house on the 500 block of Strawberry Road just before noon Thursday, North Monterey County firefighters said.

Officials said the leaking 250-gallon tank near the alternate Route 1 bridge caused lane closures between Baltimore Avenue and Charles Armentrout Drive that lasted until roughly 10:30 p.m. Monday.
