Little pouches of nicotine sold by the brand ZYN were given the green light for marketing this week through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s premarket tobacco product application (PMTA) pathway.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Thursday okayed the marketing of 20 Zyn nicotine pouch products after undertaking an extensive scientific review of them.

Following an extensive scientific review, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has authorized the marketing of 20 ZYN nicotine pouch products. Nicotine pouches—small synthetic fiber pouches containing nicotine—are designed to be placed between a person's gum and lip.
