The Pacific Northwest is staring down a rare spring severe thunderstorm threat and Texas is preparing to see up to half a year’s worth of rain by the weekend as March continues its streak of unusually disruptive weather.

Heavy rainfall and significant flooding are headed to Southeast Texas Thursday night, as the National Weather Service issued a flood watch.

Flash flooding, with localized double-digit rainfall totals, is a risk this week, as are thunderstorms and possible tornadoes.
