There is already a ferry named after Tricia, who herself was named after a Miss Australia winner. People in WA are in mourning following the death of Perth Zoo matriarch Tricia the elephant.

Tricia was born in Vietnam in 1957 and arrived in Perth in 1963. She was named after Miss Australia 1962, Tricia Reschke. Tricia the elephant is pictured with zookeeper Mark True in 1986.

She was 65. An Asian elephant, Tricia was said to be one of the oldest elephants in the world and an icon of Western Australia. The zoo posted on its website: “Vale Tricia, Forever in our hearts.” ...
